MRS S – Narrow lane delivery

Our customer, Mrs S contacted us to arrange clearance of a shipper’s own container from Australia and to then organise delivery from the docks to her house. Following customs clearance, we employed a well-known transport company to collect and drop the container at the customer’s  premises.
Unfortunately, the customer’s house was located off a narrow country lane, and the lorry driver refused to deliver because he thought that the track leading to the customer’s house was too narrow.
On being informed of this problem, we instructed the driver to take the container back to their yard, and we then instructed another company to collect the container next day. They then delivered the container without any problem.Following our intervention and the successful outcome our customer was most happy.
